Hi, I'm Sheena
Ceramic artist and pottery tutor, working from my garden studio near Eastleigh
After years split between teaching and studio work, I'm now doing both, on my own terms, from home.
From 'Quantitative Easing' to garden stoneware.
I graduated from UCA Farnham, and one of my proudest moments came soon after, when my graduation piece was shown in the exhibition 'Print in Focus' at Craft in the Bay, Cardiff, and sold to a collector just months after I'd finished my degree.
From late 2014 to 2016 I was resident at The Sorting Office in Eastleigh, and from 2016 to 2025 I worked at 318 Ceramics at Farnham Pottery.
Now I'm working from home. My husband has extended my garden studio so I have the space to teach, and I'm loving having my garden and my workshops all in one place.

Sheena is currently using a technique involving laser cutting and etching to create impression plates similar to those used in the lino print world.

Lettering, Texture and Handwriting
Most potters add words by stamping letters into the clay. I've taught myself to use a laser to design texture plates instead, which create low relief text with a softer, more natural feel.
Taking this further means I can capture something really personal: a letter or a note from someone you love, preserved in clay for good. Even a pet's paw print.
Welcoming you to my home studio for 1:1 and small-group sessions, and stepping back into teaching at Jo Morley Studio.
What I'm Working On Now
I'm developing a range of sculptured stacking stones carrying words and phrases, which tie in with my plant label workshops. In time, I'd love to make these with your own family's handwriting, recipes and letters
