Working with Children

CRB cleared, I provide workshops for groups of children in After School Clubs and Holiday Playschemes, together with Birthday Parties and Community Events.

I begin by showing the children how to make a blank tile, and then letting them free to use their imagination. They learn how to join clay successfully, and then to decorate their creations using impression stamps and tools to create texture. Other themes may be around making animals and beasts, mugs, bowls etc.

Once made, the pieces are taken away for controlled drying, before being fired and glazed. This process takes around three to five weeks, depending on the firing cyles.

Pricing…. This rather depends on what you are seeking, but prices start at £65 per session, with a small charge to cover materials and firing costs.
