![]() Latest project is a joint exhibition with Artists at 318, taking place in July and August this year at National Trust property, Leith Hill House in Surrey. I am working on a new body of work exploring colour and mark making, alongside print and layering of images. Excited by the outcomes so far! Any thoughts?
Our bi-annual Open Studios is fast approaching, with just a couple of weeks to go. Come along and share some drinks, nibbles and chat with me and the other artists. It is a beautiful environment, with lots of architectural personality.
Map below, further directions on the 318 Ceramics website. I'm taking part in Open Studios at The Sorting Office where I spent a couple of years after graduating. Sharing creative space with a wide variety of creative disciplines was a really positive experience for me. Although I've moved on to 318 Ceramics, I still have close ties with the artists at The Sorting Office, so I thought it appropriate to show some of my new work there this year. In particular I am pleased to present my new Ring Holders which are embellished with genuine platinum lustre, just beautiful for displaying and caring for your rings.
In addition to the Ring Holders, I will also be selling my Bird Mugs, which are handmade in stoneware clay, dishwasher and microwave safe too. Follow the link Sorting Office to get directions and see a map. This workshop is for students of ceramics and pottery who want to create simple forms that can be duplicated easily and quickly, ideal for making pieces like garden accents, glaze test pieces and beads, to name just a few. During this workshop we will discuss and choose appropriate shapes that will successfully create drop out and press moulds.
There will also be some ready made moulds to use on the day, giving an opportunity to try the various shapes and methods including press moulding and slip casting. At the end of the day you will have at least one mould that you will have made to take away for future use, plus any pieces you may have press moulded or slip cast. The course fee is £60 to include all materials and tools. To BOOK, send me an email with the subject line Mould Making, with your choice of date. I will then invoice you with my bank details for payment. Once your payment is received, your place will be booked. Both workshops run from 10am to 2pm but may run on a little longer if needed. If you would like to be informed of any future workshops or exhibitions, please join my mailing list Josh and I had our own 'Great Pottery Throwdown Challenge' at 318 Ceramics recently, it was great fun and we enjoyed ourselves so much. Josh was busy practising when I arrived, and I've only ever done it once before..... courtesy of Charlotte Stockley, by friend from college, UCA Farnham. Take a look here
The Farnham Pottery is the most amazing place to have my studio. The atmosphere, the building and my co-potters all make the experience very special for me. Take a look at this little video clip, just to get a taste of the place, I hope like me you will drawn to come and take a look for yourself one day!
